At Grupo Ubesol, we continue to drive sustainability forward with the implementation of a charging system for electric and hybrid vehicles, located at our two plants in Atzeneta d’Albaida. This innovative installation is exclusively powered by solar energy, generated by one of the largest photovoltaic plants in the industry.

In 2022, at Ubesol and Laboratorios Maverick Ulldecona, we launched a photovoltaic plant composed of 4,800 solar panels that produces 20% of our energy demand and prevents the emission of 1,300 annual tons of CO2. Additionally, it now also powers a charging system for electric and hybrid vehicles, like those that make up the company’s fleet.

This project represents not only an advancement in the company’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure but also reflects Grupo Ubesol’s commitment to the United Nations Global Compact and its active contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and 13 (Climate Action).

The CEO of Grupo Ubesol, Jorge Úbeda, highlighted the importance of this project: “This initiative reflects our firm commitment to integrating environmental protection into our business model and our operations strategy. We are convinced that through projects like this, we can make a significant contribution not only to our corporate objectives but also to global challenges in sustainability.”

The project to implement charging points at Ubesol has been subsidized by the MOVES III program with financial support from the European Union within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan, and the Recovery and Resilience Facility, as well as with participation from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, the IDAE, and the IVACE.
