Grupo Ubesol, made up of Ubesol S.L. and Laboratorios Maverick S.L.U., recorded a consolidated turnover of €331 million in 2024, a 17% increase compared to 2023, when it reached €284 million. This has been made possible thanks to its strong commitment to outstanding quality, high-value innovation and the latest developments in digitalisation, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence.

The company, a specialist in the development of personal care and household hygiene products, closed 2024 with a net profit of €15 million, representing a 4.8% return on sales – still some way off the pre-pandemic average profitability levels, which stood at around 9.7%.

In recent years, the company has intensified its investment efforts to continue growing and recover pre-pandemic profitability levels. In fact, this year alone it invested nearly €19 million to improve facilities, optimise production processes and raise quality standards, driving both innovation and service efficiency. Total investment under its 2020–2025 strategic plan amounts to nearly €70 million.

Grupo Ubesol now produces an average of around 1.2 million units every day of the year – or nearly 447 million units in total in 2024 – representing a 12% increase compared to the previous year. These figures support its leading position as one of the main European manufacturers of shampoos, shower gels, hand soaps, deodorants, wipes and household textile products.

In terms of employment, Grupo Ubesol ended 2024 with a team of over 1,100 people, reflecting a workforce increase of nearly 13%, while also achieving a 3.3% improvement in productivity per employee.

Sustainability, AI, and a New Strategic Plan 2025–2027

As part of its 2030 Sustainability Plan, Grupo Ubesol succeeded in reducing its total CO₂ emissions per unit produced by almost 2% – a particularly significant achievement in the context of increasing production. Furthermore, it reached a waste recovery rate (reuse, recycling or energy recovery) of over 96% and cut total waste by 75 tonnes.

Both Ubesol and Laboratorios Maverick were awarded the prestigious Ecovadis Silver Medal and renewed the respected IFS HPC certification, which ensures the quality and safety of their products. In addition, Ubesol achieved FSC certification, and Laboratorios Maverick successfully passed the Intertek social audit.

In 2024, Grupo Ubesol took a further step by integrating generative artificial intelligence into its administrative and production processes, achieving improvements and optimisations across operations and tasks at all its facilities.

This year, Grupo Ubesol is launching a new 2025–2027 Strategic Plan, shorter than the previous one, to better adapt to new needs across all its sites, especially in the current context of geopolitical instability. This new plan includes changes and restructuring, such as the incorporation of the Purchasing General Manager into the Executive Committee, given the strategic importance of procurement within the new framework.

In this new plan, the Strategic Pillars retain their core essence with slight adjustments to better reflect the group’s current reality. Key priorities include talent retention and recruitment, production process efficiency, AI integration, sustainability and innovation, and margin improvement to support the significant investments planned – close to €100 million over this three-year period, assuming sales targets are met.

Sales targets for this new plan aim to reach a turnover of €360–380 million by 2027, the creation of between 200 and 300 new jobs, and a productivity improvement of between 10% and 15% per employee.

Jorge Úbeda, CEO of Grupo Ubesol, stated: “The results of 2024 reflect our ability to adapt to market needs with strategic vision. We continue to strengthen our leadership in the categories in which we specialise, reinforcing our commitment to outstanding quality – all while remaining focused on essential aspects such as process improvement, procurement cost efficiency, agility and service excellence.”
