We are very glad to share the 2021 Sustainability Reports of the companies inside Grupo Ubesol, Ubesol and Laboratorios Maverick, are out. These reports detail the progress we have made to reduce the environmental impact of our activity and the actions we have promoted to contribute to the progress of our communities.
We are aware that, in order to achieve our goals in the field of sustainability, it is necessary to involve the entire value chain, from the design of the product to its delivery to the customer, taking into account the supply of raw materials and production phases.
We would like to highlight three actions we have implemented in the last year in order to reduce our environmental impact.
We carry out specific actions with which we contribute to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on those most directly related to industrial activity, as we believe they are the ones we can most influence.
We have certified the energy management system of our 4 plants with ISO 50001, which means that we implement energy saving processes to consume fewer resources.
80% of our suppliers are national and, for example, in the treatment of waste, we only trust companies that ensure them a second life.
However, we are prepared to extend our actions. Our purpose is to enhance our plans to be, every day, a more sustainable company.
We are carrying out a project to install solar panels, with which we will reduce our electricity consumption by 20%, which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of more than 1,000 homes in Spain for a year.
We have also created the Grupo Ubesol Sustainability Committee, a multidisciplinary team made up of all the areas of the group to share a global vision of sustainability.
Our aim is to boost innovative and sustainable growth that benefits the communities where we operate.
We join the celebration of World Environment Day on Sunday June 5, because we believe a better planet is possible.
